Street Lights Out in the Vicinity of 258 Rectory Road

Now resolved – if there are any other long standing problems like this please let John know.

From County Councillor Tracey Chapman as the Highways Department is responsible for these street lights.

“The problem is with the electricity provider who are being less than helpful. Highways are on to it and will ask the provider to deal with this as a matter of urgency. As soon as they get a commitment to a time and date will let you know.”

Rachel Barnes has spoken with EDF and the jointer who has been attending to Rectory Road. They say that the reason the fault hasn’t been repaired yet is because the lamp columns are on a dangerous bend and have been unable to park there or the nearby street. However, they have traced the fault to a damaged cable under the road and they are going to have to carry out a dig. They should have attended by either tonight or tomorrow to cut the live feed and then they will carry out the work on Monday or Tuesday next week.
